Privacy policy

Effective August 31, 2026

The short version: when you self-host openagent.email, your mail data stays on your server. For Hosted Pro, we use customer and order information only to provide and support the service. This website uses no tracking cookies.

The software

openagent.email is self-hosted. Every mailbox, message, and token lives on infrastructure you own and control. The software contains no telemetry, no analytics, and no "phone home" behavior of any kind. We never see your mail — we couldn't if we wanted to.

This website

• The Hosted Pro checkout collects the email address used for the order and the requested openagent.email address prefix. We use them to create, provision, and support your hosted instance.
• Hosted Pro customers can contact support@openagent.email. We use the address only to provide support and reply to the request.
• No advertising, no third-party trackers, no cross-site tracking.
• We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, hosted on our own server. It records anonymous, aggregate page-view statistics (which pages are visited, roughly where from, and what kind of device). It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses, and cannot identify you.

Hosted Pro

Our optional hosted service is for people who don't want to run their own server. If you make a one-time purchase, the following applies:

• On the hosted service, your mailboxes live on servers we operate. We access them only to run, secure, and troubleshoot the service. We never read your mail for advertising, never sell your data, and never share it except with the infrastructure and payment providers needed to deliver the service.
• Creem is our Merchant of Record and payment processor. It processes your payment and billing information under its own privacy policy; we never see or store your full card details.
• You can export your data and delete your account at any time.

If you email us

If you write to support@openagent.email, we use your address only to reply to you. We don't add it to marketing lists, sell it, or share it.

Third-party services

Our source code is hosted on GitHub and our packages are distributed via the npm registry. When you use those services, their own privacy policies apply.
